In the hustle and bussle of life we need some creativity

Writing is measurable! And not only by word count or money earned.  It feels good to write, to feel alive. Creating words on paper or virtual paper, feels satisfying, perhaps freedom itself. The freedom to express and create. The simple freedom to write, to transfer your creativity, ideas and thoughts not only to the page but into others. They take what they may, and leave what they will. When we read other people books, especially the one that make us think, they transform us into new beginning and on the path of doing things differently.

When writing, time slows down unless you are writing a university assignment! You are not pressured to condense your idea or speech to the minimal amount of words to a busy and uninterested listener. You are free to use as many words as you feel is necessary to write your creative piece. If this isn't freedom, I don't know what else is. The freedom to write, short or long pieces, is up to your stamina and creativity. We've seen books in all shapes and forms, the big fat ones and paper thin ones. Their is diversity in  discourse of creative writing and actually it is encouraging to see.

Publishing in the traditional formats is no longer my current focus. It'll take away from the creative writing process while I'm still working on my creative writing and building that confident writing muscle. They usually say envision the end process, for me the end process is a long way away. I'd rather let the creative writing process grow organically. Like a gardener, I don't know if I'm better at growing tomatoes or mango trees and unless I'm in the field in the mud and in the thick of it all, who knows what are the fruits or vegetables of my labor. A gardener is a gardener no matter what they produce, heck it could be flowers or wild weeds, who cares. The process for the involved gardener is the same, dig, plant, water, pull and shovel. A writer is a writer, write a word, a sentence, a paragraph, a page or many pages, the process is the same, however, like gardening, the products varies.

Its been observed that writers make good gardeners! The more you care about your garden the more it gives. Writers desperate to replicate that physical success or half success in their garden, to their writing, as it gives them assurance, comfort. Writing is an elusive unseen beast, its not complete or born until it sprouts to a full article, short story or published book.  There are outside forces in writing and gardening that could undermine the work, for gardening you have to figure out the soil and the best time to plant the plants. And you are still at the mercy of the weather, sudden cold snap close to harvesting could ruin all your hard work.  Your writing style might not be the flavor of this month or this year. All the same! True gardeners keep gardening and true writers keep writing, tweaking and improving their produce for traditional and emerging markets. If not, simply, admire in the sunlight or moonlight their handy work!

That plant survived in spite of my infrequent watering! Its a miracle it survived, but it did! I'm grateful now and then I come back to creative writing. Each time I get more out of it.
